Are you thinking of having a pool built?  Or, have you had a swimming pool built in your back yard, but never really saw the process? 

Although we don't build pools, we thought you might enjoy seeing how it's done.  Here are some photos that show the various steps involved in building a pool.

The shape of the pool is being  outlined and the digging has begun.

The borders have been outlined and digging the hole is progressing.

In this location a thick layer of caliche is only a couple of feet below the surface.

Breaking up the caliche is a time-consuming job.

The backhoe work is completed and the hole is dug.

Top frames are put into place.

The suction and return lines are laid for below-deck plumbing.

Plumbing lines that will connect the pool to the equipment are laid.

Lines for the spa jets in the shallow end of the pool/spa construction.

Rebar is bent and formed into the shape of the pool to reinforce the structure.

Without rebar, pool vessels would not have the strength to last for years.
